MetrO App Reviews

Dont know what Id do without it!

This app is amazing for European travel. You can even enter your nearest metro station and popular destinations and it will give you directions. I have had less luck with it in the US (probably because our public transport isnt as good), but in Europe and South America it has been great.

Best app by far for Paris metro & bus in finding best routes

Now that Ive tried several and read reviews for more, this is THE ONE for Paris. I consider the gold standard of comparison to be the Ratp.fr website. "Best route based on a starting and ending address, considering metro and train or bus." You can enter a starting address and an ending address. The Ratp site will give you a best route. You also get choices of train or bus, and can choose a day and time to plan ahead. Finally, although this doesnt always seem to work, you can save your favorites. MetrO mimics the Ratp.fr website with all those choices. Plus, it can start at your current location if you have location services. One thing it does not do is give you train, metro, and bus together. Your choice is metro + train or metro + bus. The other is that it does not include timetables. If you are traveling extremely early or extremely late, you may want to check schedules elsewhere. Other Paris metro apps fail in many ways. The most common is that they basically force you to choose your metro stations yourself. Even if you put in an address or use location services, its up to YOU then decide which metro station (from a provided list) you want to start from. That may result in your not getting the best route by a long shot. Where I stay in Paris, there are three stations close by. MetrO picks the best station for me depending on my destination. Another problem with other apps is that bus, train (RER), and metro are not integrated. MetrO isnt perfect. It will integrate bus & metro, or metro & train, but apparently not all three at once. Still, this is a very big improvement over other apps. I have crossed checked MetrO on several routes requiring changes with Ratp.fr. Its results match, although time estimates my differ slightly. Like Ratp.fr and most or all other apps, you can get a quick map around your start or end location. Finally, what an amazing deal - its free! Note: In fairness, I have not been able to check out Kemtos app. It isnt clear from their website or reviews if it does what I consider the essential test: Best route based on addresses and including buses and trains.

good work!

and thank you.

Absolutely amazing!

This app is just amazing considering that it is free. I dont know how you guys are keeping it up-to-date but thanks for this effort all the way. Very importantly, this app works very well with Voiceover screen reader for the blind. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Best travel app around!

We travel A LOT and we use this app more than any other. Its perfect because it has every major city, gives you many alternatives and WORKS OFFLINE!!! Its never been wrong in the hundreds of times weve used it. Its become an essential part of our trip planning and we use it constantly to get around when were traveling. And its FREE! We LOVE this app and HIGHLY recommend it!

Unbelievably useful app

On my first trip to Tokyo, I took a variety of tools with me in order to find my way around the citys train system. Maps, complex apps, and then a little piece of software called MetrO. I had never expected that not only would this app be as useful as it ended up being, but that I would only need it and nothing else. With a lot of other apps, theyre about trying to shove complex maps or information onto a small screen. With MetrO, I get only what I actually need: clear and easy-to-understand directions on how to get from the station Im at, to the station I want to be at. And, of course, because MetrO works offline, its always there for me at times that other apps have no ability to be. Ive now used MetrO for both visits to Tokyo and San Francisco, and its never let me down. Such an amazingly helpful and convenient must-have tool when traveling. I appreciate that the app is free, but Id easily pay money for it if it werent.

Very good map for Paris

Very good for Paris. You can specify not only station names but also touristic points like louvre or famous stores link Lafayette. Very fast and easy to use. Recommend.

Great

Great app. I used it in Spain. Has more circuits mapped out than any other app out there.

Best metro app ever!

What a lifesaver and a time saver! I tell all my friends about this app!

Awesome.

Ive used it flawlessly in Beijing, Paris, Budapest, Rome, Bangkok, Barcelona, Berlin, Munich, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, and Shanghai. Have no know clue why some peeps dont like it. Works like a charm for me every time. One of my most recommended apps.

Great

So useful! I love the fact that we can use this app without Internet connection

Thank you!

Saved me from getting lost in London! So easy to use and understand! Thank you!

App is bewildering

They need some type of instructions or tutorial on how to use this App. First time I tried it, I spent over 40 minutes trying to figure out how to use it the way the developers intended it to be used. In a new city, wanting to go from point A to point B, Id like to know that I should take the XYZ line to point ABC and then transfer to the DEF line until I get to point FGH, where I transfer...etc. Please provide instructions so that travel challenged people like myself can use the App. The concept of the App is wonderful. The instructions not so much. Most Apps are intuitive. This one is not.

Greatest app!

Thank you!
